High quality
Our coffees are chosen according to the Speciality Coffee Association criteria (https://www.scae.com). We only buy coffee that scores 80+ according to the speciality coffee association. This ensures that only high quality green beans are selected and roasted to bring you something really special. We roast our coffees to bring the uniqueness of the coffee’s origin in the same way that a good wine reflects its “terroir”.
Seasonal
Whilst green beans are longer lasting than roasted beans, they still have a shelf life. We only buy current season beans to ensure that little or no aromatics are lost, allowing you to indulge in the full taste spectrum that speciality coffee can offer.
Fair-trade
Coffee producers are normally paid on the basis of the international commodity price of coffee. If the commodity price is very low, the producer is likely to make a loss, as the commodity price does not necessarily reflect the cost of producing coffee. Our supplier pays producers not just 3 or 4% above the commodity price but a MINIMUM of 20% over their cost of production. This ensures that our producers do not have to sell their coffee at a loss and allows you to enjoy quality fair-trade coffee.
